The fermentation process and preparation of sourdough leads to a variety of health benefits.  According to some studies, sourdough bread acts as a prebiotic, which means that the fiber in the bread helps feed the “good” bacteria in your intestines. These bacteria are important for maintaining a stable, healthy digestive system. Every ingredient in our soudough is organic and non-GMO.  


Our mission is to provide small batch ORGANIC sourdough starter, bread and other baked goods.  As a local independent bakery, our choices are entirely guided by a desire to nourish our neighbors and foster community.

ORGANIC EINKORN SOURDOUGH


Einkorn is the only wheat which has not been hybridized.  

It is grown organically and tested for glyphosate. Einkorn lacks the gluten proteins that trigger symptoms of gluten sensitivity.  It also contains higher levels of nutrients.  It's distinct nutty taste & unique texture make it an incredibly tasty grain!



Is Sourdough bread gluten-free?

Let's break it down.

A typical serving of bread contains an average of 124,000 PPM of gluten.

A typical serving of sourdough bread contains an average of 220 PPM of gluten.

To be considered "gluten'free" bread must be below 10 PPM.

(Therefore, sourdough is not "gluten-free" but the content is much lower and can often be tolerated by those who struggle with gluten.)
