It started with an unrelenting desire to make my own sourdough bread after not being able to find what I wanted in the stores. Every loaf had canola oil or sugar or even worse ingredients, even the organic loaves.
Once I got a taste (literally) I was hooked! I’ll never buy store bought bread ever again. The entire process of making sourdough bread is like a slow avalanche of magic. Tending to the starter, making the dough, waiting patiently for it to rise, shaping, proofing and scoring a design. I love all of it…but best if all, I love the smile on my family’s face when it comes out warm onto the dining room table.
I started gifting neighbors bread, then the school moms got a taste and we posted for sale on Nextdoor and now we’re busy filling daily orders. I’m sleepy and covered in flour dust and as content and satisfied as ever.
